Oxycodone is an analgesic, semi-synthetic opioid synthesized from thebaine. Developed in 1916 in Germany. It was a new semi-synthetic opioid derived from an attempt to improve existing opioids: morphine, diacetylmorphine (heroin) and codeine. On the market are in solid form and in solutions. Indications: Treatment of acute, chronic pain, analgesic in Oncology. Oxycodone has a moderate analgesic effect.
